LVGL8.1 how to get dark theme

I’m a bit lost how to get a dark theme working. I’m using lvgl on eps32 (WT32-SC01 3.5inch touchscreen dev board) with platformio in vscode.

It seems like I got lv_conf.h working by adding -DLV_CONF_INCLUDE_SIMPLE in platformio.ini. lv_conf.h is in my src folder.

I thought that setting LV_THEME_DEFAULT_DARK 1 should be enough. However it seems to have no effect at all. It seems that whatever I write in lv_conf.h is not really applied, also changing LV_THEME_DEFAULT_GROW does not do anything. Am I missing something?

Here is my project: https://github.com/peteh/wakeupclock
Here is my lv_conf.h

The best way to check that the right lv_conf.h file is being used to is to add an #error test directive to it under #include <stdint.h>. If there is no error at compile time, your build system is not using it for some reason.

The error is called during compilation:
src/lv_conf.h:21:2: error: #error test
 #error test
  ^

Thus the config is loaded but it is not doing what it is supposed to do.

I’ve tried it locally and the option seems to work as expected.

@kisvegabor Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Please try this in a C file:

#if LV_THEME_DEFAULT_DARK == 1
#error "dark on"
#else
#error "dark off"
#endif

So it seems like it’s on. However, when I see it on the display it’s still white background and blue buttons.

Compiling .pio/build/mhetesp32minikit/libaf1/SPIFFS/SPIFFS.cpp.o
Compiling .pio/build/mhetesp32minikit/lib957/SPI/SPI.cpp.o
src/main.cpp:89:2: error: #error "dark on"
 #error "dark on"
  ^

Mhm I am still not getting further.

I’m using the following source:

Could somebody post a minimal example code/project that is supposed to work?

Have you tried it within the PC simulator? I’m seeing the same thing there, and it’s almost certainly easier to remove any hardware dependency when troubleshooting.
