I wanted a more compact and direct alternative to traditional dropdowns and pickers, so I built this tool selector in LVGL.
The main control always displays the icon of the active tool. When pressed, an animated, scrollable picker expands next to it, updating both the selection and the icon in real time.
I designed and implemented it for an ESP32-based touch interface, with the active tool always visible at a glance.
Hi @johnnymarta ,
Thanks for bringing this up. Could you share some of your results? The repository or the project?
Did you create it using the LVGL Editor or LVGL Open (pure C)?
Hi! I designed it in SquareLine Vision and then implemented the C code with the help of Claude Code. The project isn’t publicly available at the moment.
Great, have you tried LVGL Pro yet? I can help you during development.
Yes, I’ve used it before, and I really liked the XML-based workflow. As a designer, I found it very easy to understand!
Thanks! If I need any help during development, I’ll definitely reach out.
