Is it possible to store a 3.5" LCD IPS display for a long time or is it not possible because they have organic materials in the liquid crystals and LED backlights that slowly degrade and lose brightness, color and contrast during storage? i have consoles R36S and Powkiddy Q80 with LCD IPS display
LCD is not an issue. OLED can be. with OLED each pixel actually generates it’s own light and it is done using organics which is where the name comes from. LCD is backlit and the pixels are not organic. because the pixels do not generate their own light they are not impacted by time as much as OLED is.
IPS displays are LCD displays so you should not have any kind of diminished performance from storing the display. You should be able to store the display for 20 years and it should perform the exact same as the day you stored it. There is a single catch to that. You do not want to store it in a place where the temps are going to be over 90°F or below 50°F. extreme temperatures could cause issues with the display. Most likely you would end up with a lot of dead pixels which is a pixel not responding and either staying completely opaque or fully transparent.
