How to create animated gif of SDL2 demo in linux?

I’d like to create something like this https://github.com/littlevgl/lv_apps/blob/master/examples/lv_ex_settings/lv_ex_settings_2.gif to share progress of my work.

Could you advice how to do that in linux with ease (i use Ubuntu 18.04LTS)?

I use Peek gif recorder.

Looks nice. What to you use then to crop recorded image exactly to window area? GIMP?

For me, Peek’s window snaps to the window under it as I resize Peek.

But usually, I set Peeks’s window a few pixels smaller than the area to record. E.g. the gif you linked above has 479x317resolution.
