Board recommendations

Hello Everyone.

I’m working on a project to make a very simple digital counter/stopwatch type of device for a sports project.

The device needs only to have a clear, bright round lcd screen, around the size of a samsung smartwatch.

I’ve looked at off the shelf solutions such as an ESP32 dev board with display (like this https://www.waveshare.com/esp32-s3-lcd-1.28.htm?___SID=U), however the have many features that are surplus to requirements (wifi, bluetooth, gps etc).

I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for a similar type of circular dev board/screen combo thats more… basic, without all the bells and whistles?

i think you should still use esp32 because who knows wifi, bluetooth, gps, etc. will be needed in the future or you can just ignore it for now or you can buy a cheaper esp32 and a round screen from china to save cost here
