I see no problem to do anything, if it doesn’t break software architecture, and someone agree to spent time for that. I did FF scripting many years ago. Can confirm - it works and not difficult.
Of cause, such script should go with appropriate precaution about “correctness”, to avoid propagation as “good practice”.
In ideal world, someone could spend time for explicit resolution of problem - find or create proportional bitonal fonts of small size for oled. For eхample, contact unscii authors with request if fonts from u8g2 wiki not enough.
